So you don't know what a special is?  Well, a few times each week classes go to a "special" for 40 minutes. The specials are Art, Media, Music, and Physical Education (P.E.).

Starting the 2011-2012 school year, students will attend 3 specials on a rotating basis. Students will have Art and PE and either Media or Music. During the first and third quarter of the school year, classes will attend Media. The second and fourth quarter, classes will attend Music.

Your classroom teachers will provide you with a schedule based on a six day rotation. For example, on Day 1 you may have Art. On Day 2 you may not have a special, but will have some other teacher-directed fun activity. On Day 3 you may have PE and so on. Because of this rotation, some weeks you may have specials three times a week, and some weeks you may have specials two times a week. On days you don't go to specials, your teacher will do an alternate activity with your class.
